All participants must raise the minimum amount below in order to participate:
Individual - $50 minimum pledge or donation
Children ages 6 to 12 - $25 minimum pledge or donation
Children ages 5 and under - Free
You must drop off your donations to the Cobequid Foundation at 40 Freer Lane before 1pm the day of the Walk Run event on Sunday, October 27th .

Registration Hours (donation drop off and prize pick up):
Friday, October 25th, 2019: 1pm – 6pm
Saturday, October 26th, 2019: 11am – 2pm
Sunday, October 27th (day of Walk/Run): 12:00pm – 1:00pm
Event Day Activities – Sunday, October 27th
Activities - 12:00pm to 3:30pm – Please go to the front of the Cobequid Community Health Centre, through the main doors (NOT the emergency entrance) to register before attending the event activities. The activities will take place outside behind the Cobequid Community Health Centre by the gazebo.
If you have already dropped off your pledges and picked up your prizes please arrive before 1:00pm to be ready for the walk/run warm up. The walk/run will leave the Cobequid at 1:30pm.
Games & Snacks: This year we have some games including MINI GOLF and HOCKEY SHOOTOUT (at all times please follow the attendant’s instructions). We will have POPCORN and COTTON CANDY for all participants.
Face Painting: Volunteers will be set up outside to do complimentary face painting.
Vendors: There will be a number of vendors this year. All vendors will be selling their products or services and some may have some complimentary items.
Warm Up and Walk/Run:
If you have already dropped off your pledges and picked up your prizes please arrive by 1:00pm to be ready for the Walk/Run.
Warm up start time: 1:15pm
Walk/Run start time: 1:30pm
Lunch: (Subs/BBQ & Refreshments) will be provided following the Walk/Run starting at 2:00pm
Safety: RCMP and a number of our “Marshals” will provide assistance at major street crossing points. HRM Traffic Authority Regulations require participants to proceed on the sidewalk no more than two abreast. Please observe all traffic lights and signs.
WATER & REST STOPS are set up along the route for your convenience.
Walk/Run Routes: We have a new runner’s route this year around First Lake along the trail and our Walk route is a bit shorter (5KM). Please be advised of the signs and make sure you stay on the route.
WALKERS (5 kilometers route) leave the Cobequid Community Health Centre, proceed down Freer Lane to Cobequid Road; right on Cobequid Road; left on Glendale Drive to the Sackville Sports Stadium; pivot at Sackville Sports Stadium and return along Glendale Drive back to Cobequid Road; right on Cobequid Road and left at Freer Lane to the Cobequid Centre. Walkers should feel free to walk a shorter route. Signs marking the return distance are posted at the 1, 3, and 5 KM points. Walkers are instructed to stay on sidewalks.
RUNNERS (5 miles/8.05 kilometers route) leave the Cobequid Community Health Centre, proceed down Freer Lane to Cobequid Road.; right on Cobequid Road; left on Glendale Drive; right on Metropolitan Ave; right on Kingfisher Way; left onto the First Lake Trail, run along the First Lake Loop 1, continue past Sackville Arena on to First Lake Glen Slauenwhite Trail, continue past Eddie LeBlanc Memorial Ball Park, keep on the trail past MacIntyre Lane, at the end of the trail continue on Sucker Brook Rd until Cobequid Road; right on Cobequid Road, left at Freer Lane to the Cobequid Centre. Signs marking the return distance are posted at the 1, 3, 5, 8KM points. Runners are instructed to stay on sidewalks.
